My First Trip to Gunnison Beach!

This weekend was a weekend of “Firsts.” I visited the iconic Gunnison Beach for the first time!!! Earlier this week, my partner, The Professor, suggested we take a weekend trip to Gunnison Beach. This weekend presented the perfect opportunity to trek to the famous nude beach. While it wasn’t her first time going, The Professor was just as excited for me to experience Gunnison for the first time. I could barely contain my excitement!

If you’re not familiar, Gunnison Beach is a sacred, clothing-optional gem tucked away in the Sandy Hook Unit of the Gateway National Recreation Area, located in Middletown Township, NJ. It is New Jersey’s only legal nude beach and a MUST-visit beach. Since I live in the DMV, it was a 4-hour drive, with some traffic jams. Throughout the traffic, music, good food, and vibes carried us to our destination!

Day 1

The Professor and I arrived at Gunnison Beach on Saturday at around 8 pm, so we had a little bit of time before the beach closed. We traveled through a maze of forest and pavement until we got to the parking lot, which led us to the entrance of Sandy Hook’s clothing-optional oasis. There were food stands and umbrella/chair rentals that were closed. Thankfully, we had our necessary supplies. As we entered the beach, the Sun had begun to get cozy with the sea, but there was an array of people on the beach.

There were people of all hues, ethnicity, and genders dancing, chatting, playing games, and relaxing. The Professor and I settled in and disrobed. I took in the beautiful skyline. The Sky’s emotional blend of orange, blue, and white danced across the ocean’s crest. The cool wind gently passed through the atmosphere, while people existed in their element. I limited my pictures due to the lighting and, of course, respecting other people’s privacy and personhood.

Not everyone was clothes-free, which was okay because nudity isn’t required. The Professor and I were comfortable being free. Gunnison Beach isn’t the place for that. Unfortunately, a couple of pervs were pleasuring themselves as they walked through the crowd.

We ended up leaving because some disrespectful jocks thought it was proper to invade others’ space with a stupid football. They had already hit some people with the football without apologizing, but then it got worse. To keep from making a scene, The Professor and I left. While Day 1 of Gunnison was cool, other people, men, sullied the first day. The Professor and I were determined to have a good day on Day 2. We sailed the highway to our hotel.

Hotel Shenanigans

The hotel was a nice Marriott about 40 mins from the beach. We arrived at around 10pm. When we entered the hotel, we were met with state of the art customer service. The hotel had a bistro that served Starbucks. After we got our room key, Bae and I relaxed and showered.

I started feeling photogenic. Since I was on a weekend baecation and I had time, I decided to take some bathroom and shower pics. I initially set the photo timer to take pictures, but that wasn't good enough. Since I didn't have my ring-light, I asked the Professor to be my photographer.

The Professor gladly indulged my request. She suggested I do some shots of me in the shower enjoy the water stream. The Professor photographed me from various angles as she hyped me up. With each pose, I grew more amorous by the minute. We took more shots and Bae then joined me in the shower.

It was Sunday after all! Bae and I pressed through the traffic. It was bumper-to-bumper traffic. Thanks to a road-raging nutjob, the Professor and I found a quicker route that took about 10 to 20 minutes off the trip.

We finally reached Gunnison at around 12:15 PM. We did the good ole, get out of the car, grab your things, and hit the beach. Bae and I walked a quicker path to the entrance of Gunnison Beach. This time there were more people. More of Mother Nature’s masterpieces of various hues, genders, backgrounds, and other races. I must say the Melanin was Melanating on this Sunday! The R&B met us as soon as we hit the sand. The vibes were there. The sand was warm on our feet, and the wind breezed in all its glory.

The Professor and I chilled and relaxed. We had fun conversations in between reading sessions and partaking of the food! We did walk around the shore and behold the ocean view as well as the diversity among the beach patrons. We even took pictures both clothed and unclothed. The Professor and I trudged through the sand, taking in the sea of people and enjoying the beach’s full essence. I must say my calf muscles are still sore from battling the sand.

I did get in the water. I watched The Professor swim and float in the water. I didn’t want to go too far out as I can barely swim. However, with Bae’s coaching and help, I got chest deep in the ocean’s bosom and got my short ass right back out! I am a small woman. The ocean will carry me away!

I went back to the water a couple times. Since there are no lifeguards, there was a park ranger patrolling and making sure people were following protocol and not doing illicit sexual activities. The Professor and I walked and toked some more. We read some more until it was time for us to go.

The ride home was an easy ride home. I enjoyed my time at Gunnison Beach. I have not visited a nude beach since Haulover in 2015. That’s 11 years! I can’t wait to go again. It felt so good being in my Black Transgender body on a beach with absolutely nothing on!!! I wasn’t worried about possibility, the size of my breasts, or my genitalia. I just was!!! The best part was sharing this special moment with the woman I love. The Professor really made this trip special! Gunnison will see me again soon!
