What About Your Friends?

This weekend has been a great weekend. I relaxed, saw a movie, and ran some errands. While, I needed to repair a cracked phone screen, I was still at peace and settled in my soul. Though the rain poured from the sky, time with my friends and bae served as the sunshine in the rain.
Friendship is vital in these critical times. We are living in a time where rights are being snatched, folks are losing jobs, and people are losing vital services. Without community we'd be lost. Unfortunately some groups of people do NOT value community. Their greed and selfishness have made them violent orks that need to be stomped out!
Many of us have gone through hell and back in some of our friendships. These relationships were one-sided, mental draining, and emotionally damaging. In spite of the abuse and trauma of trashy friendships, we managed to still give friendship another try. One that new try we found some true friends,:"True blue, tight like glue" as Queen Latifah said in the "Living Single" theme song. It's a poor frog that doesn't see value in his own pond. If you don't value your friends, then you don't have a heart!
It took me a while to find people that weren't trying to use me for all I had. I am grateful for the friends and loved ones I have. I am happy to experience "The Devil Wears Prada 2" and some good cannabis with a close friend and a new friend. I am happy to go grocery shopping with my friends and partner.
What about your friends? Are they true? Do they make you blue? Are y'all tight just like glue?
